Who Built This
My name is Morgen Junior. I built ZimTax (payecalculator.co.zw) because I wanted to give Zimbabweans something simple and useful — a place to check their PAYE and VAT calculations without needing an accountant, and a place to find real job vacancies in Zimbabwe all in one spot.
The idea was straightforward. Too many Zimbabwean workers receive their payslip each month and have no easy way to check whether the numbers are right. Calculating PAYE correctly means applying progressive tax bands, accounting for the NSSA cap, and then calculating the AIDS levy on top of that — all in two currencies. Most people either trust their employer blindly or struggle through ZIMRA tables. I wanted to remove that struggle.
The job vacancies board came from the same thinking. People looking for work in Zimbabwe deserve one place where they can see what jobs are available, what they pay, and then immediately calculate what that salary means in take-home money before they even apply.
Why I Built It
Zimbabwe's tax system is more complicated than most people realise. PAYE is not a flat rate — it uses six progressive bands. NSSA has a cap that most payroll software gets wrong after ZIMRA updates. The AIDS levy is calculated on PAYE, not on gross salary, which catches people out constantly. And Zimbabwe runs in two currencies — USD and ZiG — each with different tax bands.
I built ZimTax to make these calculations simple, free, and available to anyone with a phone. No sign-up. No payment. Just open the page and get your answer in seconds.
The Tools
How I Keep the Data Accurate
Every calculator on this site uses the official ZIMRA tax tables. I update the PAYE bands, NSSA cap, and AIDS levy rate whenever ZIMRA announces a change — which usually happens at the start of each fiscal year or after the national budget. Each calculator page shows the date the tax data was last updated so you know exactly what version you are using.
For official and legally binding figures, always confirm with the ZIMRA website or a qualified tax professional. These tools are for guidance and verification — not a substitute for professional advice.
Your Privacy
All calculations happen entirely in your browser. When you type in a salary and press calculate, the numbers are processed locally by JavaScript on your device — nothing is sent to my servers. I do not store your salary or any personal financial data. The only data collected is anonymous analytics (page views, country, device type) through Google Analytics, which I use to understand how the site is being used and where to improve it.
